Just Married? It's our policy not to change our records
with regard to ownership unless those changes have been made in the public
records. If you would like to sign a Quitclaim Deed over to yourself and change
your name - at which time you can also add your new husband to the Deed if you
like - we would be glad to help you with that. Please visit
this page for information about how to do that.
However, if you don't wish to make the change in the public records, we can put
your married name in parenthesis after your last name, for the purposes of
keeping the Post Office from having a coronary, or losing your mail, or sending
your bills back, or what have you. For example, if your name is Jane Smith, and
you married John Doe, your record would look like this: |
